With millions of headlines floating in a
continuous spiral, Kimberly Kardashian West is a celebrity that always has
people talking. Admiration is sucked out of me whenever I hear Kim’s view on
the articles written about her. She has an enjoyable personality but all is
knocked away as she is seen as the typical spoilt, Californian girl. Whatever
your view on her you cannot deny the underlying fact of her empire that she
returns to every night. Everyone sees her as an airhead with no life, but Kim
is the one who, at the end of the day, is sitting on her bum with millions of
dollars spilling out, a garage filled with expensive cars and a wardrobe filled
with designer items. But life isn't about money, it’s about looking good and
having a great sense of fashion.
Let’s dive into the realm of Kim’s best get-ups
over her years.
MTV VMA’s 2014. Rolling out onto the red carpet in California
in late August 2014, Kim held two accessories the whole night, Kendall and
Kylie Jenner. With her two younger but taller sisters, Kim shined between the
two (not just because she was shorter) as her striking beaded Balmain poncho
inspired mini dress took centre stage. With a bit of cleavage Kim surely caught
the eye of some. With the daring plunge up top and the short end of the dress
finishing it off, she showed that life clearly does go on after you turn 30 and
after you have a baby. The design that adorned the dress was a good change as
Kim is known for her neutral palette and monochrome statements and I was
pleasantly surprised to see her choose a dress with red. Also from Balmain is
her shoes. The Black Braided Rope sandals add a touch of texture to compliment
the beaded dress. Not stealing the shoe but still part of the whole production,
the sandals tie together her hair and dress. The simplistic waves that touch
the ends of her hair. Her glossy nude lip is set perfectly and doesn’t
overpower the look. Kim pulled this look off and accessorised to the necessary
edge. Her light white nail polish paired with her makeup makes her stand out
for all the right reasons. It’s clear she is there as an attendant and
presenter and isn’t there to outdo anyone.
Taking a trip back to October 2013
when Kim had blonde hair, a few months after giving birth to North, Kim stepped
out in Ermanno Scervino to celebrate her 33rd birthday in Vegas.
With her golden locks twirled into soft waves, her neutral makeup makes a mark
as it comes across natural, it accentuates her tan and the bright lace two
piece. Personally I don’t think this two piece would look as good with darker
hair, as the caramel undertone compliments the white lace structure perfectly.
Although this set is very plain and nothing too extravagant,it still is
amazing and could have gone awfully wrong without the right makeup, shoes and accessories.
Speaking of accessories, Kim holds onto a gorgeous pouch from Dolce &
Gabanna. The mosaic design is amazingly made up individual pieces to form a
religious figure. Finishing her look off with a golden chain sandal from Tom Ford, Kim kills
it with this head to toe glam packed outfit. Shining with her dirty blonde waves and dazzling with the gold heels and mosaic clutch it’s clearly evident
that Kim knows how to present herself in a simplistic and minimalistic way.
Stepping out in late May, 2014, Kim wore another
amazing Balmain dress. A few days before she married Kanye, Kim mesmerised the
world in a short but tasteful dress. Coming from the creators of the most magnificent dresses, Balmain obviously holds a very special spot in Kim’s
heart. While she was wearing this beautifully made dress, it literally held
onto her heart with the main standout on this dress, the small spot of flowers,
was drawn to our attention to the beautiful detailing of this dress. As Kim
struts it out with her curves, I think with her body and those shoes together
it looks a lot better than on the runway. Kim revived this dress and basically
dragged it from its death, coming all the way back from 2012, this dress was
worth the wait. This is probably the prettiest way to wear the turtleneck style
as the beads and embellishments dazzle and pop and bring class and maturity to
this dress. This dress was no exception to Kim’s makeup. The natural waves also
reappeared on this day too. Pairing this elegant dress with Giuseppe Zanotti’s
suede pumps in the shade pink blush, Kim looks very chic as she walks the
streets of Paris.
It’s very obvious that Kim Kardashian West is not
to be messed with when it comes to fashion. She has come to embrace her body
and that should be positively noted by society. Not being afraid to flaunt what
she’s got, Kim is a true style icon.
